Christina “Christy” Trudo died on August 10th in Manchester, NH following open heart surgery. Christy was born on May 23rd, 1951 in New Haven, Connecticut, the daughter of Vernon and Christina Trudo. She grew up in Hamden, Connecticut and later attended Lake Forest University, and subsequently graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s degree. Later in life she attended Bangor Theological Seminary. As a hospital administrator, Christy worked in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Hanover, NH and Boston, Mass. In 2001 she was offered a position with The United Church of Christ at their Cleveland, Ohio headquarters where she collaborated with numerous churches in various locations. This was the role that she truly excelled at and enjoyed. Later she was an administrator at the Cleveland Clinic. In 2018 she moved to NH with her beloved cats Sadie and Gabby. There she was able to help care for her parents in their final years and to reconnect with siblings. She was a great support to her sister Laurie as well. Christy was a Type 1 diabetic from early childhood, and for severe scoliosis, wore a back and neck brace throughout her high school years. Later in life she endured many other health challenges, never complaining, but always remaining optimistic and cheerful, with immense courage in the face of adversity. She was highly intelligent, well-read and a spirited conversationalist. Most importantly, she was a practicing Christian and a person of deep faith. She actively endeavored to gain self-understanding and to grow spiritually all of her life. Christy is survived by her brother David of Weare, NH, her sister Laurie of Milford NH and brother Scott, also of Milford. She also leaves a nephew Andrew Trudo and a niece Hanna Trudo, and former husband David Ladwig. She was predeceased by her parents Vernon and Christina Trudo and sister-in-law Janis Headley Trudo. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 8th at 11:00am in the Congregational Church of Amherst, 11 Church Street, Amherst, NH. The service will honor and celebrate the lives of Christy and her parents who both passed away earlier this year. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford.
