Retired Naval Chief Warrant Officer Chester H. � Chet� Waterman, 90, resident of Amherst, NH, died August 23, 2009 at the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. He was born in Boston, MA on October 14, 1918, a son of the late Albert L. and Mary (Hines) Waterman. Mr. Waterman resided in Amherst, NH since 1973 and formerly lived in Arlington, MA. He entered the US Navy in 1936 and served during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He retired in 1978, with the rank of chief warrant officer after receiving numerous commendations and service awards. Mr. Waterman was the founder and president of Luboline Industrial Oil Company, Somerville, MA. His many memberships include the Shriners, Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and The 100 Club and he was a life member of Lafayette Lodge #41 F & AM, Manchester, NH, VFW and American Legion. Family members include his wife, Jeane (Humes) Waterman of Amherst, NH. Visiting hours are Tuesday, August 25th from 3-5 & 7-9 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow in the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
