Charles W. Stickney, 88, resident of Amherst, NH died on June 10, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Milford, NH on October 7, 1927, a son of Earl H. and Ina M. (Duncan) Stickney. He made his home in Amherst for the past 75 years. Mr. Stickney had been employed as a lineman for New England Telephone Company for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and loved his Belgian horses. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during the Korean War. Mr. Stickney was predeceased by his wife, Edith (Bartlett) Stickney, who died in 2006 and a son, James Stickney. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Maxine Stickney of Wilton, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and James Johnson of Greenville, NH; eight grandchildren, Justin Stickney, Lacey Stickney, Kathryn Stickney, Jeremiah Crosby, Angel Gaskins, Benjamin Crosby, Batiste Crosby and Elias Johnson; six great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and loving friends. Memorial visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 29th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, June 30th at 10:00 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery, 454 Nashua Street, Milford.
