Charles V. Asselin, 79, longtime resident of Amherst, NH, died on October 31, 2022, at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH.
He was born on April 28, 1943, in Nashua, NH, the son of Charles A. and Olivette (Gallant) Asselin. He was raised and educated in Nashua, and graduated from Nashua High School, Class of 1962.
Charles had been employed as a Brew Master for Anheuser-Busch Brewery, Merrimack, NH for over twenty years.
Mr. Asselin was a proud US Army veteran having been honorably discharged in 1970.
Charlie was an avid golfer, gardener, and fisherman. He loved cooking and baking and would regularly visit and deliver his food to his many friends and family. “Grampy Chuck” adored and loved to spend time with his two grandchildren Taylor and Jake. He also had a very generous nature, especially regarding the less fortunate, and would regularly deliver items to depressed areas to help families in need.
Charles was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Adrienne Asselin; brothers, George Asselin and John Dube.
Family members include his wife, Linda Asselin of Amherst, NH; a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Gina Aselin of Amherst, NH; grandchildren, Taylor and Jake Aselin of Amherst, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 10th from 4-6:00pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Souhegan Valley, P.O. Box 916, Milford, NH 03055 or Special Olympics New Hampshire, P.O. Box 3598, Concord, NH 03301 or to the Special Olympics New Hampshire, 650 Elm Street, Manchester, NH 03101-2508.
