Charles J. Michie

Charles J. Michie, 74, passed away peacefully on November 21st, 2016 after battling a long illness. Born in Manchester, NH on February 20, 1942, the son of Robert L. Michie and Teresa (Caron) Michie. A graduate of Milford AREA Senior High, 1961. He was a machinist for GTE Sylvania in Nashua for over thirty years. Charles loved the outdoors. He enjoyed canoeing and camping with family and friends. He was an avid hiker, having hiked most of the trails in the White Mountains several times. And in his later years, he would be seen walking through his neighborhood on a daily basis. He also enjoyed working on cars and tinkering in the garage or his work shed. He was an avid Patriots fan, always making sure to watch their games. He was a devoted husband and would enjoy stories involving his family and friends. Charles is survived by his brother, Stuart Michie and his wife Christine; his brother, John Michie; his brother Kenneth Botsford and his wife, Tanya; his sister, Margaret (Michie) Ungricht and her husband, Ralph; his son Alan J. Michie and his partner, Allen; his son, William J. Michie and his wife, Jennifer; his daughter, Carlene Madison and her husband, Thomas; and his granddaughter, Angelina; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Joanne (Landry) Michie and his brother James Michie. Visiting hours are on Sunday, November 27th from 11am to 1pm and from 4 to 6pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 28th at 10am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Meadowview Cemetery, Amherst.
