Charles A. Koenig

Charles A. Koenig, 82, resident of Mont Vernon, NH, died July 28, 2007 at Harborside Healthcare Center-Northwood in Bedford, NH. He was born in Queens, NY on June 26, 1925, a son of the late Charles Koenig, Jr. and Louise (Brendel) Koenig. Mr. Koenig had been a resident of Mont Vernon since 1972 and had formerly lived in Long Island, NY for many years. He owned and operated Koenig Septic Service in Mont Vernon for more than 20 years. Mr. Koenig enjoyed tinkering with cars, working in his yard and his vegetable garden. In addition, he loved music and animals, especially dogs. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a loving husband, a devoted, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mr. Koenig was predeceased by a son, Gary T. Koenig. Family members include his wife of 57 years, Jean M. (Zeblisky) Koenig of Mont Vernon; two sons, Kenneth S. Koenig of New Boston, NH and Roy C. Koenig of Milford, NH; two daughters, Jeanne H. Whitcomb of New Boston, NH and Linda M. Clark of Harpursville, NY; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. There are no calling hours. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 3rd at 10:00 am in St. Patrick's Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford, NH. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery, Mont Vernon, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, New Hampshire Affiliate, 249 Canal Street, Manchester, NH 03101 Smith & Heald Funeral Home, Milford, is in charge of arrangements
