Celia A. Gadway Koski, 94 years of age, of New Ipswich, New Hampshire passed into eternal life on April 18, 2021. She was born in Mooers Forks, New York on May 19, 1926 and lived on the family farm until her senior year in high school when her family moved to Brattleboro, VT. She graduated from Brattleboro High School in 1943. Celia became a nurse by entering the Cadet Nurses Training Program at Fanny Allen Hospital, Winooski, VT during World War II. She married Robert Koski in 1947 and they had four daughters: Dawn M. Koski Jacobson of Milford, NH; Penelope J. Koski Petkiewicz of Henniker, NH; Patricia A. Koski of New Ipswich, NH; and Celia T. Koski of Scarborough, ME. Celia was predeceased by her husband and four siblings, and is survived by four daughters, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Celia’s greatest love was for her family. Large family gatherings occurred at her home annually throughout the years, only halted by Covid-19. She was always active in whatever community she lived, volunteering her time for many causes: children’s health, senior citizen programs, assistance for needy people, delivering Holy Communion to senior homes, and other charitable works. She was active in her faith community, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greenville, NH, serving in many volunteer capacities through the years. Her home was filled with many hand sewn items of beauty she made with love throughout the years. She worked in the town offices in Townsend, Massachusetts for years when her children had grown, and she worked as a librarian in New Ipswich, mirroring her earlier library work at Marlboro College, where she had worked while Robert was earning his degree at that institution. Celia was always willing to talk to everyone who sought her counsel. Her wisdom, understanding, and patience drew many diverse people into her circle of friends. She also was extremely interested in the thoughts, activities and philosophies of the people that she knew. People whose life she touched are encouraged to support a charity of their choice and, when the virus is finished, bring a baked good to a neighbor.
