Catherine Sawyer � Catherine Ann (Hogg) Sawyer, 83, a resident of Milford NH, died September 6th at Harborside Healthcare Center-Crestwood, Milford. � She was born April 14th 1924 in Charleston W.Va., the daughter of Clarence W. and Martha, nee Gehrkin, Ogle. She attended Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory, North Carolina. In 1945 she married Frank Hogg, whose Naval career ultimately took them to Japan with their four young children. They were divorced in 1972. � She married Norman Sawyer in 1974. He preceded her in death in 2006. � Mrs. Sawyer was a resident of Milford for 14 years and then resided in Nashua for more than 30 years where she worked as a documentation clerk at Sanders Associates.�At her death Catherine was a member of good standing of a girl's club, Syobon�(Noboys backward), she and her girlfriends had formed when they were 12 years old. They had remained in touch and Catherine attended a small reunion in 2004. � Mrs. Sawyer was a member of Wheelers, Good Sam Club, New Voice Club of NH and in her earlier years, was a Girl Scout Leader.�She was a member of the Church of Our Saviour in Milford, where she taught Sunday school and Bible Camp during the 1960s. � Family members include a son, Frank Hogg, Jr. of Boulder, CO; three daughters, Marsha Hoecker of Shirley, MA, Carolyn Roy of Lyndeborough, NH, Bobbie Hogg Pryce of Forked River, NJ; 7 grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Ellen Martin of Niles, MI. � Step-children Include Peter Sawyer, Paula Tsepas, Louann Hoegan, Laurie Ploude. and Jay Sawyer. She also has 12 step-grandchildren and 4 great step-grandchildren � Catherine fostered on her children an appreciation for people of diverse backgrounds, love of the arts, and belief that one should work toward the greater good of all. Her wonderful sense of humor and keen appreciation of irony served her till her release from this life.� � A Memorial Service will be held at the Church of Our Saviour in Milford on Friday, October 5th at 1:00 in the afternoon.In lieu of flowers�donations may be made to�Beacon Hospice, 157 Dunstable Rd, Nashua, NH .
