Carl A. Johnson, Jr., 74, resident of Mont Vernon, NH, died on October 24, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Nashua, NH. He was born in Providence, RI on March 5, 1947, the son of Carl A. Johnson, Sr. and Anna E. (Skees) Johnson. Carl was raised and educated in Rhode Island, graduating in 1964 from Hope High School, Providence, and earning his B.S. from the University of Rhode Island, Kingston in 1971. He was a U.S. Army veteran honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant in 1969. He had been employed in sales for Meridian Printing, East Greenwich, RI for many years. Carl was a larger-than-life character with a vivacious personality. He was a knower of all things and a walking military encyclopedia. An exceptional hockey and tennis player, he loved sports, working in his yard and most of all, his children. Beloved husband of Claire F. Choiniere of Mont Vernon, NH. Additional survivors include his two sons Carl Anders Johnson III (Cassie) and Graham T. Johnson (Micha) and three stepdaughters: Hillary Fischer (Ryan Grady), Courtney Fischer (Michael Farber) and Noelle Fischer; and eight much loved grandchildren. There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 1:00pm in The Congregational Church of Amherst, 11 Church Street, Amherst, NH. Burial with military honors will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, www.pva.org.
