Calvin L. Beam

Calvin L Beam passed away peacefully, June 17, 2022. Calvin was born in Cutler, ME on April 13, 1946. The son of the late Audbrey and Alta Beam. He graduated from Washington Academy in East Machias, ME in 1964. He married Evelyn (Sue) Iotte on June 17,1967 at the Sacred Heart Church in Wilton, NH. They celebrated 55 years together and had three sons. Cal was an avid horseshoe player; in the past he was a volunteer fireman for the Lyndeborough and Wilton Fire Depts. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball and basketball. He retired from both Hitchners Manufacturing and the Milford Post Office. He was a member of the American Legion Bent-Burke Post #10 Wilton and loved playing cribbage with his friends. Calvin was the kind of man that everyone could count on for a lending hand or a smile to brighten their day. The kind of man that could make a bad day turn great with just a simple bear hug. His favorite thing to do was dancing with his beloved wife, Sue. He is survived by his wife, Sue; a son and daughter in law Kevin & Jean of Lowville, NY; a son Craig of Bennington, NH; a sister, Helen of Milford, NH; a brother, Donald Beam of Silver Springs, FL, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son, Jason; a brother, Virgil; and two sisters-in-law Alice & Patricia. Memorial visiting hours will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
