Burton J. Brochu, Jr.

Burton J. “Burt” Brochu, Jr., 67, resident of Lyndeborough, NH died on November 3, 2017 at his home with his loving wife, at his side. He was born in Nashua, NH on June 26, 1950, a son of Burton J. Brochu, Sr. and Norma (Cheever) Brochu. He was a lifelong resident of Wilton and Lyndeborough, and graduated from Wilton High School, Class of 1968. Burt spent part of his life as a painter, contractor, mason, and landscaper working alongside his dad. Later in his life, he was an antique dealer that owned Forest Road Antiques in Lyndeborough, in addition to managing properties. He belonged to many leagues, including cribbage, bowling, and softball leagues. He also enjoyed horseshoes. He had a passion for golf and was a member of Crotched Mountain Golf Course and loved playing at Sacandaga Golf Course near their camp in Northville, NY. Burt was a U.S. Army Vietnam Era veteran and a longtime member of Bent-Burke Post #10, American Legion, Wilton. Family members include his wife with whom he would have celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on November 26th, Nancy (Hutchinson) Brochu of Lyndeborough, NH; a son, Jesse B. Brochu of Hartford, CT; and Aunt Sis Brochu of Peterborough, NH; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Traci Hutchinson of Medford, MA, Jeffrey and Michelle Hutchinson of Wilton, NH and Alana Hutchinson of Wilton, NH; three nephews; one grand-niece and several cousins. Memorial visiting hours are on Sunday, November 12th from 1:00-4:00 pm at the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 13th at 10:00 am in the Second Congregational Church of Wilton, 25 Gregg Street, Wilton, NH. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wilton. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Bent-Burke Post #10, American Legion, P.O. Box 381, 24 Maple Street, Wilton, NH 03086.
