Bruce Sturtevant

On November 25, 2018, Bruce Sturtevant, gardener, birder, foodie, musician, cat lover, smitten husband, and loving father and grandfather died in his home at the age of 70. Bruce was born and raised in Lynn, MA. He moved to New Hampshire in the 1960’s and has been a long time resident of Amherst, where, with his wife, Pam, he took great joy in spoiling ornery cats and tending to his lawn and garden. Bruce loved food and cooking and happily and generously shared his culinary adventures with friends and family. He loathed an overcooked ham. Bruce was a music lover and a talented drummer. He was most happy listening to jazz, caring for his plants, and grilling in the yard. Bruce is survived by his father and his wife, Donald Sturtevant and Barbara Sturtevant; his mother, Elva Roy Kolley; his wife, Pamela A. Morin Sturtevant; his two children, Jonah Sturtevant, and Amy Sturtevant Lopez; his sisters and brothers, Elaine Borry, Sheri-ann Bernard, Jodi Kolley Shattuck, Joel Kolley, Lisa Sturtevant Castine; and his grandchildren, Rebecca Lopez, Isaias Lopez, Maximus Sturtevant, and Lucas Sturtevant. Visiting hours are on Thursday, November 29th at Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a funeral service starting at 7 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be sent to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute or the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge.
