Bruce Dickstein, 56, lifelong resident of Amherst, NH, died September 25, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Nashua, NH on September 4, 1955, a son of Rita (Souriolle) Dickstein and the late Maurice Dickstein. Bruce had been employed for Hitchiner Manufacturing Company and had also worked for a local haz-mat company. In addition, he spent many years as a repairman and handyman. He enjoyed country western music, watching old movies, computer games and especially loved to dance. He was a member of the Harley Sanford Post #4368, VFW Auxiliary, Milford, NH and Bent Burke Post #10, American Legion Auxiliary, Wilton, NH. In addition to his mother, family members include two brothers, David B. Dickstein of Amherst, NH and Steven Dickstein of Wilton, NH; a sister, Betti G. Russell of Milford, NH; a niece, Danielle M. Dickstein of Milford, NH; two nephews, Eli B.M. Dickstein of Amherst, NH and Seth A. Russell of Milford, NH; an aunt, Irene Lafreniere of Oklahoma City, OK; and several cousins. Memorial visiting hours are Saturday, October 1st from 3:00-5:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, followed by a gathering at the VFW, Perkins Street, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Joseph Home and Hospice Care, 24 North River Road, Milford, NH 03055. We sat beside your bedside, Our hearts were crushed and sore, We did our best to the end, ‘Til we could do no more. In tears we watched you sinking We watched you fade away, And though our hearts were breaking, We knew you could not stay. You left behind some aching hearts, That loved you most sincere; We never shall and never will Forget you Bruce dear.
