Beverly J. Whittemore

Beverly J. Whittemore, 81, resident of Penacook, NH died on December 18, 2012 at the Merrimack County Nursing Home, Boscawen, NH. She was born in Keene, NH on October 20, 1931, a daughter of Lyle and Minnie (Robbins) Rice. She graduated from Keene High School, Class of 1949. Mrs. Whittemore resided in Penacook for more than 10 years and formerly made her home in Milford for 36 years. She had been employed by Souhegan National Bank in Milford for 25 years and retired as a manager from the Elm Street Branch. Mrs. Whittemore was a longtime and active member of The First Congregational Church of Milford, UCC. She was a charter member and past president of Milford Lioness, a member of Concord Quilters Guild, RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Programs) and the Centennial Senior Center. In addition, she was a member of the Keene Rainbow and had been a 4-H, Cub Scout and Girl Scout Leader. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene F. Whittemore, who died in 2003. Family members include her daughter and son-in-law, Delora and Bruce Douglas of Zionsville, IN; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Candace Whittemore of Concord, NH; three grandchildren; Rebecca Johnson and her husband, Matthew of Peoria, IL, Barton Douglas of Zionsville, IN, Nathan R. Whittemore and his wife, Kim of Sanford, ME; a great granddaughter, Louisa Johnson of Peoria, IL; a sister, June L. Jackson of East Sullivan, NH; and two nieces. There are no visiting hours. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28th at 10:00 am in The First Congregational Church of Milford, UCC, 10 Union Street, Milford, NH. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Swanzey, NH.
