Betty May Chartier

Betty May Chartier, 84, resident of Merrimack, NH, died unexpectedly on August 27, 2016 at Southern NH Medical Center, Nashua, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Milford, NH on March 6, 1932, a daughter of John P. and Jean (Courage) Bruce. Betty made her home in Merrimack for the past 50 years. She was raised and educated in Milford and graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1950. She enjoyed playing bingo, tole painting, visiting Disney World, going to camp and most especially loved spending time with family and friends. In addition, Betty’s favorite holiday was Halloween, she loved decorating the camp and looked forward to the children coming up. Betty was predeceased by her son, Bruce R. Chartier. Family members include her loving husband of 58 years, Robert N. Chartier of Merrimack; three children, Valerie Gerlack and her significant other, Dave Migneault of Vista, CA, Glenn Chartier and his wife, Lynn of Littleton, NH, Lynne Perron and her husband Rod of Goffstown, NH; four grandchildren, Andrea Boisvert, Beth Tower, Sterling Gerlack and Trina Gerlack; three great grandchildren, Rachel Locke, Adam Tower and Keith Locke; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are on Friday, September 2nd from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.
