Barry E. Norton

Barry E. “Honk” Norton, 63, lifelong resident of Milford, died on June 25, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Nashua, NH on November 14, 1950, a son of Edward L. and Barbara G. (Ouellette) Norton of The Villages, FL. He graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1968. Barry retired from P.J. Currier Lumber Company in Amherst where he had worked for 16 years. For many years he worked at Lowell Lumber and also drove truck across country. He enjoyed playing cribbage regularly every Friday. Barry was a loving father, a devoted grandfather, son, brother and loved spending time with his family. Barry was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded numerous medals and honorably discharged in 1971. In addition to his parents, family members include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah K. Norton and Kyle Lincoln of Moultonborough, NH, Erin and Matthew Fiffield of Wilton, NH; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Shane and Susannah Norton, and Ethan Norton, all of Milford; five grandchildren, Aidan Lincoln, Abby Lincoln, Lily Norton, Gabriel Norton and Sean Fiffield; two sisters, Susan Kaveckas of Seaford, DE and Colleen Norton of Santa Monica, CA. Memorial visiting hours are on Tuesday, July 1st from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Burial with military honors will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.
