Barbara L. Wilson

Barbara L. Wilson, 87, longtime resident of Amherst, NH, died September 27, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Jaffrey, NH. She was born in Winchester, MA on December 7, 1924, a daughter of Joseph E. and Alice E. (McMonagle) Thorn. A resident of Jaffrey for several years, Mrs. Wilson formerly lived in Zephyrhills, FL for many years and also in Dover, NH and Amherst, NH. She was a charter member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Nashua and attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Dade City, Florida. Mrs. Wilson enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening and especially spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother and great grandmother. She was predeceased by her first husband, Wilfred Edmands and her second husband of 61 years, John R. Wilson, Sr.; sisters, Ruth Hobart and Dorothy Foster. Family members include four daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and David Gage of Wilton, NH, Priscilla and Terry Clarkson of Hopkinton, NH, Christine and Clint Lefabvre of Ocala, FL, Barbara and Bill Wurst of Amherst, NH; a son, John R. Wilson, Jr. of Milford, NH; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are Monday evening, October 1st from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 am in the Messiah Lutheran Church, 303 Route 101, Amherst, NH. Burial will follow in Meadowview Cemetery, Amherst. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Good Shepherd Nursing Home, 20 Plantation Drive, Jaffrey, NH 03452.
