Barbara Crosby Enright

Barbara Crosby Enright, age 95, of Rivermead Retirement Community, died on September 6, 2014. She had lived in Peterborough since 1996. Her husband of 53 years, James F. Enright, had previously died on July 4, 1994. Mrs. Enright was born November 13, 1918 in Duluth, Minnesota, daughter of George H. Crosby, Jr. and Elsa Bieberman Crosby. She graduated from Crosby Ironton High School, Crosby, Minnesota in 1936 and Wells College, Aurora, New York in 1940 with a BA degree in Economics. She worked for the Office of Price Administration in San Francisco, California during World War II. In 1956 the Enright family moved to Amherst, New Hampshire where they lived for 38 years. Mrs. Enright was a Cub Scout Den Mother for many years. She was a charter member of the Amherst Garden Club and Friends of the Library. She served on the Altar Guild of Church of our Saviour in Milford, New Hampshire for many years. She enjoyed swimming, sailing on Huntress, gardening, skiing, and knitting, but most of all she enjoyed being with her family. Survivors include a daughter Judith Dunning of Middlebury, Vermont and three sons, Thomas Enright of Hollis, N. H., Jeffrey Enright of Harrisville, N. H., and Patrick Enright of Rye, N. H., 8 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Jane Hawkanson of Tuscon, Arizona and is survived by a sister Elsa Stephenson of Cross Lake, Minnesota.
