Barbara A. Brooks

Barbara A. Brooks, 55, passed away peacefully at The Community Hospice House in Merrimack on March 2, 2016, after a long courageous battle with colon cancer. Her positive attitude and warm outgoing spirit were a blessing to all who knew her. Family was extremely important and provided her a great source of enjoyment. Barbara graduated from Honeoye Central School in Honeoye, New York in 1978 and Endicott College in Beverly, MA in 1980. She was employed by Burndy Products in Manchester for the last twenty-seven years and received their prestigious Ron Tobias Award. She was an active volunteer at the Pat Brody Cat Shelter in Lunenburg, MA, where she tirelessly fostered litters of kittens at her home over the years. She is survived by her mother, Lorraine Marchildon of Milford, NH; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Steven G. and Emily Brooks of Lyndeborough, NH, Peter J. Brooks of Newington, CT, Alan S. and Alma Brooks of Milford, NH; nieces and nephews, Christopher Brooks, Lauren Brooks, Matthew Brooks, Alan Brooks, Nicole Brooks, Taylor Boyd and Evan Boyd; an aunt and uncle, Louise and Karl Norwood of Amherst, NH; and two cousins, Todd and Christopher Norwood. Barbara was predeceased by her father, Frank T. Brooks. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 4th from 4:00-7:00pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am in Riverside Cemetery, 454 Nashua Street, Milford, NH.
