Audrey B. Gouveia

Audrey B. Gouveia, 86, resident of West Plains, Missouri, died October 11, 2008 at West Vue Nursing Home, West Plains, MO. She was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on April 8, 1922, a daughter of the late John C. & Theora (Finney) Smith.� Mrs. Gouveia lived in Missouri for a short time and formerly resided in Milford, NH and Mont Vernon, NH for several years, Providence, RI and Greenville, RI for many years.� She was a homemaker for most of her life and also enjoyed reading.� While living in Rhode Island, she had worked at Coro, Inc. in Providence for 10 years.� Mrs. Gouveia was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother.� She was predeceased by her husband, Manuel C. Gouveia; a sister, Margie Martella; three brothers, Frank, Jack and Robert Smith.� Family members include three daughters, Linda G. Herring of Mont Vernon, NH, Rosanna Smith of Richmond, IN and Margie Riel of West Plains, MO; a son, Lawrence Tondreault of Mount Horeb, WI; 9 Grandchildren; 6 Great-Grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Norma Palka of Fort Myers, FL, Edie Smith of Coventry, RI; and her childhood friend, Agnes "Dodie" Rega of North Scituate, RI.� There are no visiting hours.� A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 20th at 2:00 pm in Meadowview Cemetery, 100 Foundry Street, Amherst, NH.� In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimers Association, One Bedford Farms Drive, Suite 105, Bedford, NH� 03110.�
