On August 16, 2024, Arthur L. Sennott III passed into spirit at 56 years of age, joining his mother, Leslie Brook (Jenkins) Sennott. He is survived by his father, Arthur L. Sennott Jr.; his uncles, Stephen Gerard Sennott and Edward John Sennott; and his aunt, Mary Ellen Sennott.
Arthur's legacy in the martial arts world is unparalleled. His unique approach, blending Judo, Krav Maga, Xing Yi, Bagua, Aiki, and Systema, led to the creation of his own martial art. His ability to simplify complex physics into practical applications made him a sought-after teacher worldwide. His influence even extended to law enforcement, where he was hired to enhance force control techniques.
In addition to martial arts, Arthur was also an accomplished bodyworker. He was a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and also did Acupuncture, Shiatsu, Sotai, and several other modalities requiring knowledge of material in several languages and cultures. His intense and unique combination of experiences gave him an exceptionally unique, well-rounded approach to Eastern medicine and the body. He was one of only a few in the United States qualified to practice and teach some of his bodywork knowledge.
Arthur's love for music was a defining part of his life. A fan of the Boston Punk scene, he was a multi-instrumentalist, playing bass, lead guitar, keyboards, and even composing his own music. His passion for music was matched only by his love for his friends and students, with whom he shared many lively discussions about martial arts, politics, and Boston sports rankings. He was also a fervent advocate for primate rights and the rights of all sentient beings.
Arthur was intense, passionate, and emotional while being incredibly intelligent and experienced in his fields of focus. He will be greatly missed by his family, students, clients, and friends.
