Arthur F. Provencher 80, longtime resident of Wilton, NH, died on November 8, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Nashua, NH.


He was born in Nashua, NH on November 6, 1942, Arthur is one of five children to the late Mae (Grugnale) Provencher. He is also predeceased by his sister Dee Provencher.


Arthur was employed with the town of Milford for many years as a heavy equipment operator. He was well known to the townspeople for street sweeping and plowing the roads at 3:00am. Arthur was known at the DPW as a hard worker, and jokester who always pulled the best pranks on his coworkers.


Arthur was an avid gardener and enjoyed camping in Pittsburgh, NH. When not in his garden he could be found picking wild mushrooms or watching Jerry Springer, Ellen, or Maury. Arthur enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Arthur was a collector of just about any tool you could imagine.


Arthur was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force.


Arthur is survived by his loving wife Gail (Covill) Provencher of Wilton, and their Daughter Jeannette Pirkey and her fiancé Luis Toledo of Wilton; 5 grandchildren, Jocelyn Pirkey and her fiancé Benjamin Vaughn of Amherst; Ian Pirkey of Wilton; Sophia Toledo, Luis Toledo III, and Gabriella Toledo of Wilton. His former son-in-law Paul Pirkey and his wife Shannon Pirkey of Milford; a sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Robert Canavan of Milford; two brothers, Rex Provencher and Billy Provencher of Milford; two nieces and one nephew.
