Arthur F. "Art" Bent, Sr., 94, resident of Brookline, NH, died July 19, 2008, at his daughters home in Brookline, surrounded by his family.� He was born in Lowell, MA on May 3, 1914, a son of the late Fred & Edna (Noble) Bent.� Mr. Bent resided in Brookline for more than 80 years.� For over 60 years, he was self-employed as a florist supplier.� Mr. Bent and his family were known for their handcrafted wreaths and roping that were provided to area residents and businesses for many years.� He enjoyed the ocean and deep-sea fishing.�Mr. Bent was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran having served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during World War II.� He was a member of the Kilduff-Wirtanen Post #74, American Legion, Brookline.� He was a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather and was lovingly known as "Bump".� He was predeceased by his wife, Eva M. (Devine) Bent; a son, Donnie Bent; two grandchildren, Shari Bent and Ralph Bent, Jr.; a sister, Ida Chambers and four brothers, Leonard, Norman, Raymond and Donald Bent.� Family members include two sons, Arthur F. Bent, Jr. and his wife, Agnes, Ralph Bent and his wife, Sandra, all of Brookline, NH; two daughters, Barbara Austin, Andrea Daniels and her husband, Tom, all of Brookline, NH; 11 Grandchildren; 24 Great Grandchildren; 10 Great-Great Grandchildren and a sister, Thelma Chambers of Pepperell, MA. There are no visiting hours.� A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd at 11:00 am in Pine Grove Cemetery, Pepperell Road, Brookline, NH.� In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Brookline Ambulance Association, 3 Post Office Drive, Brookline, NH� 03033.�
