Antoinette M. Sprague

Antoinette “Toni” Marie (Luongo) Sprague, 93, lifelong resident of Milford, died on July 31, 2014 at Crestwood Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Milford. She was born in Milford on February 12, 1921, a daughter of Francesco and Maria (Pagliocca) Luongo. She graduated from Milford High School and attended Nashua Business College. During her high school years, she was a member of the basketball team and was a champion speller. In addition, she enjoyed wintering in Sebring, FL for many years. Toni and her late husband owned and operated Sprague Oil Company and Sprague Plumbing & Heating Company, Milford. She was an avid bowler and golfer. She was a founding member of the Amherst Country Club and a member of NH Women’s Golf League. She was also a life member of the Harley-Sanford Post #4368 VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Toni was a devout catholic and active parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church, Milford, a member of the church choir and had served as past president of Catholic Women’s Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Roland F. Sprague, who died in 1998 and her son, Frederick R. Sprague, who died in 2006. Family members include her son, Dr. Barry G. Sprague of Milford; her daughter, Bette Anne Brandon of Hudson, MA; a sister, Septima L. Gaidmore of Milford; three grandchildren, Ian Brandon and his wife, Malinda of Nashua, NH, Leah Letellier and her husband, Sean of Mason, NH, and Adam Sprague of Northwood, NH; a great grandson, Trevor Roland Brandon of Lexington, MA; a brother-in-law and his wife, Glenn and Marcy Sprague of York, ME; her former daughter-in-law, Pamela Sprague; many nieces and nephews. Calling hours are on Tuesday, August 5th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.
