Anthony W. Barksdale Ii

Anthony W. Barksdale II, 18, resident of Mont Vernon, NH died on March 2, 2013 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Brighton, MA. He was born in Lowell, MA on April 26, 1994. He was survived by his father, Anthony W. Barksdale I of Nashua, NH and mother and step father, Randy and Melanie (Faye) Ricard of Mont Vernon, NH. Tony had lived in Mont Vernon for most of his life. He graduated from Souhegan High School, Class of 2012 and received the U.S Marine Corps Scholastics Excellence Award and Humanities Award. He was currently a freshman engineering student at Boston University and a member of Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity. While a student at Souhegan High School, Tony played football for the Sabers and was a varsity basketball player his junior and senior year. In addition, he had earned the Coach’s Award in his senior year. For five years, Tony had been employed by Market Basket in Milford, NH. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially snowmobiling, four wheeling and flying Cessna planes. Tony had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with family and friends. Tony was predeceased by his grandfather, Hayward Faye. In addition to his parents, family members include his sister, Alisa Faye, of Mont Vernon; grandparents, Karen Faye of Hampton, NH, Freda Barksdale of Nashua, NH, Donald and Marion Ricard of Waterbury, VT; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Visiting hours are on Friday, March 8th from 3:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday at 9:00 am at Souhegan High School, 412 Boston Post Road, Amherst, NH.
