Ann D. Mione

Ann D. Mione, beloved mother, Grandma, Gigi, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on October 31, 2023, in Milford, NH at the age of 89.

Ann was born at home on June 29, 1934, in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late John and Concetta “Connie” Marino. She grew up in Brooklyn, NY, and attended Lafayette High School. After graduating she worked at the New York Telephone Company, which later became Verizon. She had a lifelong appreciation for art, design, and culture and co-owned and operated Then and Now Antiques and Gifts.

Ann was the mother to three beautiful children: Donna, Denise, and Frank. In 1966 she moved to Staten Island, where she remained a longtime resident until moving to Milford, NH in 2003. Ann was a devoted mother, grandma, and Gigi. She cherished these roles and looked forward to all the time spent with family during dinners, visits, outings, and holidays.

Throughout her life, Ann was a lifelong learner and friend. She loved playing Mahjong, gardening, doing puzzles, and antiquing. When she moved to Milford in 2003, she became involved in the garden club and other activities in the town. She had a zest for life, and always went after what she wanted. In life, she believed you needed luck, and to go after “the best things in life”.

Ann is survived by her children, Donna Esposito and Frank Mione of Milford, Denise Mione Zeccola and her husband Pete Zeccola of Garden City, NY; her sister, Joan Quagliarello of Deer Park, NY, and is also survived by her four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephew.

Ann will be remembered for her authenticity, tenacity, wisdom, and dedication to her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, being genuine, and commitment to family.

SERVICES: A calling hour will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM in the St. Patrick's Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford, NH. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashua, NH.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ann’s name to the American Lung Association.
