Angele E. Holt

Angele Elizabeth Mazella "Betty" Holt, daughter of Marie Mazella and Jose Gutierrez of Casablanca French Morocco, born January 27, 1926, died July 28, 2017 from a sudden illness. Betty was a WWII war bride and met her husband during the war. She arrived in the United States speaking only French and taught herself to speak English. She lived many years in Lyndeborough, NH and resided in Clearwater, FL from 1974 to September 2015 where she enjoyed the warm sunny climate much like her native home of Casablanca, Morocco along the Mediterranean Sea. Betty loved cooking, sewing, history, geography and especially entertaining family and friends. She was a homemaker and mother to her only son, Walter K. Holt of Lyndeborough, NH; and three grandchildren, Angela K. Holt and significant other Timothy W. Sullivan of Lyndeborough, NH, Annie K. Holt and fiancé Matthew McMahon of Manchester, NH, Ashley Rowson and husband Adam Rowson and great granddaughter, Abigail Rowson, all of Laconia, NH. She was predeceased by her former husband Kenneth W. Holt who died June 14, 1998. She was visited frequently by her family and friends of the area. She moved from Florida to the Pillsbury Home in Milford in September 2015 due to declining health to be closer to her family. Up until recently she remained as independent as possible. She was surrounded by her family as she passed away peacefully while residing at the Elms Nursing home of Milford NH. There are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held at South Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Lyndeborough, NH on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 12 noon.
