Andre F. Vander-Heyden, 74, lifelong New Hampshire native and longtime resident of Wilton, NH, died November 7, 2009 surrounded by his family at the home of his daughter in Wilton, NH. He was born in Wilton on July 28, 1935, a son of the late Alphonse L. & Donalda M. (Pellerin) Vander-Heyden. Mr. Vander-Heyden graduated from Wilton High School, Class of 1953 and attended New Hampshire Vocational Technical College, Manchester, NH. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He spent most of his working life in the tool and die industry. A proud father and grandfather, Mr. Vander-Heyden loved spending time with his family. He particularly enjoyed playing golf, tennis and backyard volleyball. Mr. Vander-Heyden was predeceased by a sister, Rita Kagen and a brother, Paul Vander-Heyden. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Scott & April Vander-Heyden of Wilton, NH; five daughters and sons-in-law, Pam & Kevin Cheever, Denise Vander-Heyden, Deborah & Leo Maloney, all of Wilton, NH, Sandra & Dennis Bridgeman of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Kristin & Chip Wagner of Chichester, NH; 18 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; two brothers, Leon Vander-Heyden of AZ, Eddy Vander-Heyden of VT; three sisters, Alice Canavan of Nashua, NH , Theresa Mayo of Greenland, NH and Merilda Lane of ME; his former wife and mother of his children, Helena Vander-Heyden of Wilton, NH; many nieces and nephews. Memorial visiting hours are Friday, November 13th from 12:00-3:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, 47 Maple Street, Wilton, NH. Private burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wilton.
