Allen R. Hendrickson

Allen R. Hendrickson, 87, of Amherst, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family in his home. Al was born on April 6, 1937, in Staten Island, New York, the son of Allen Joseph and Violetta (Tricorico) Hendrickson. A devoted husband, dad, and papa, he leaves behind his cherished wife of 68 years, Irene, with whom he built a life and together raised six children instilling in them the values of hard work, loyalty, devotion, respect, and family. 

Al moved to Westford, Massachusetts and in 1972 he established H&M Metals, a sheet metal fabrication manufacturer, and operated the business as President until his retirement at the age of 72.

A true adventurer at heart, Allen shared a love for travel with Irene, exploring the country by motorcycle, creating memories that will live on in the stories he shared. He raised his children on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee, the ski slopes of all New England mountains, and the seashore of Biddeford, Maine – spending all of his time with his family. His legacy is marked not only by his love for his family and his enduring sense of purpose but by the countless lives he touched along the way.

Al was predeceased by his son, Allen, his brother, Robert, his parents and his grandmother. He will forever be carried in the hearts of his wife, Irene, their children Patti of Amherst, Donna and Kevin of Merrimack, Robert of Kittery, Maine, Jon and Ellen of Bedford, and Lee Ann and Allen of Wolfeboro, their twelve beautiful grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church on November 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM, 216 East Dunstable Road, Nashua, NH. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Al’s remarkable life at the Immaculate Conception Church Reception Hall immediately following the Mass.
