Alberta R. Fox, "Al," 96, resident of Amherst, NH, and longtime resident of Albany, NY, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on November 21, 2017. She was born in Amsterdam, NY on October 13, 1921, the daughter of Elsie (Foss) and Albert Radichel. Alberta was a graduate of Russell Sage College and very active in RSC alumni affairs. She worked as a chemist for Standard Oil Company in New Jersey. For the next 60 years she was the bookkeeper for her husbands’ company, Henry G. Fox & Son Distributors. Alberta had a fond love for the Adirondacks, specifically a camp her father built in 1929. She enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband. She was dedicated to volunteering in her church and community. She was a Scout Leader for the Girl Scouts of the USA. Al was very proud of her vegetable and flower gardens. The Capital Repertory Theatre and The Albany Symphony Orchestra were two events she enjoyed very much. She was a longtime member of The First Church in Albany. Al will always be remembered for her warm smile, and her kind heart. Alberta is predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Henry "Hank" G. Fox. Surviving family members include a daughter, Barbara (Walter) Murray of Amherst, NH; a son, Gary (Nancy) Fox of Loudonville, NY; two grandchildren, Christine (Nicholas Semenza III) Fox of Amherst, NH; Jill (Jake) Montesano of Delanson, NY; a great grandson, Gage Montesano; and her beloved cat, Jeff. There will be no calling hours. A celebration of life for Alberta and Henry Fox, per their wishes, will be on December 18th, 11:00am, at The First Church in Albany 110 N. Pearl St., Albany, NY 12207. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions, in memory of Alberta, be made to The First Church of Albany, 110 N. Pearl St., Albany, NY, 12207.
