Agnes L. Brewster

Agnes L. Brewster, 94, longtime resident of Amherst, NH, died on May 22, 2015 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, MA. She was born in Leenane, County Galway, Ireland on July 11, 1920, a daughter of James and Anne (Joyce) O’Neill. She emigrated to Alberta, Canada as a child and later lived in Randolph, Bridgewater, and Norwell, MA before moving to Amherst, NH more than 40 years ago. Mrs. Brewster was a registered nurse and worked for United Fruit Company in Costa Rica where she met her husband Paul. She was an extremely adventurous person and enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling. Her greatest joy came from spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Brewster was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Milford and she volunteered for years at the Clothing Barn Share Program. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Paul V. Brewster, who died in 2010. Family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Janna Brewster of Juneau, Alaska, Mark and Lorena Brewster of Raleigh, NC; her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and James Butler of Oxford, MA; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, June 18th at 11:00am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford, NH. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Share Outreach, Inc., 1 Columbus Avenue, Milford, NH 03055.
