Adrian J. Culveyhouse, Jr., 86, longtime resident of Amherst, NH, died on March 3, 2014 at the New Hampshire Veterans Home, Tilton, NH. He was born in Utica, NY on March 4, 1927, a son of Adrian J. Culveyhouse, Sr. and Mary (Kroneis) Culveyhouse. Mr. Culveyhouse was raised and educated in New York and graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. He worked as an engineer for Bendix Corporation, Carrier Corporation, General Dynamics and Univac in Syracuse and Rochester, NY. In his early 40’s, he changed careers and entered the real estate business in Southern New Hampshire working for Norwood Realty and Argosy Group, Bedford, NH in both the residential and commercial divisions. Mr. Culveyhouse was a member of Milford Rotary Club. In addition, he enjoyed watching the New England Patriots, playing tennis, skiing and dining at The Mile Away Restaurant. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Germany. Mr. Culveyhouse was predeceased by his loving wife, Betty Anne (Robbins) Culveyhouse who died in 2006. Family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Marino Ferrari of Amherst; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Cheryl Culveyhouse of Goffstown; four grandchildren, Lisa Ferrari, Eric Ferrari and his wife Angela, Paige Culveyhouse and Chandler Culveyhouse. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 6th from 2:00-4:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 pm. Burial will be in Meadowview Cemetery, Amherst, in the spring.
