Stephen K. Brede, 80, resident of Fort Myers, FL, died on September 4, 2019 at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH. He was born in Belmond, Iowa on May 30, 1939, a son of Robert and Norma Jean (Hill) Brede. He initially attended college at Iowa State in Ames. He then moved to California to finish his degree in Electrical Engineering at California State - Northridge. In California, he met his beloved wife Deanna. Stephen moved to NH in 1972; eventually building a home in Hollis in 1974. He had been employed as an electrical engineer at Spacetac in Burlington, MA before founding and acting as President of Analytyx Electronic Systems in Hudson, NH in the mid 1970’s. During those years, he played drums in local bands, loved music, sailing, photography and indulging his family. He was a loving father and devoted grandfather. Mr. Brede lived in Florida for the past 12 years, having resided in both The Villages and Fort Myers before returning to NH this past year. Mr. Brede was predeceased by the love of his life and wife of 57 years, Deanna E. (Dienst) Brede, who died in 2018. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Todd Brede and Jennifer Brede of Amherst, NH and their children, Erin and Erica; a daughter and son-in-law, Laurie E. and Steve Taub of Fort Myers, FL and their children, Erik, Scott, and Deanna; two sisters, Denise “Katy” Petrini of The Villages, FL and Deborah Pollack of Brentwood, CA; a brother, Robert “Tony” Brede of Waterloo, IA; and many nieces and nephews. A visiting hour will be held on September 7th from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, followed by a time of sharing. Burial will be in East Cemetery, Hollis.
