Shirley E. Boissonnault, 80, resident of Wilton, NH, died peacefully on September 26, 2016 at Crestwood Healthcare Center, Milford, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Milford, NH on June 2, 1936, a daughter of John and Frances (Rawding) Bohonan. Shirley had made her home in the Milford, Amherst and Portsmouth during her life, prior to moving to Wilton in 2004. She had worked as a nurse’s aide at Bel-Air Nursing Home in Goffstown and at Rich’s Department Store in Nashua and waitressing in Portsmouth, NH for several years. Shirley was a former longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Milford and was active in the Women’s Pathfinders Group, Joe English Grange, Granite Grange and Hillsborough Pomona Grange. In addition, she was a member of Red Hat Club and also enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting and plastic canvas. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Shirley’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard A. Boissonnault and great-granddaughter, Emily Rose. Family members include three sons, Douglas P. Boissonnault of Milford, NH, David B. Boissonnault and his wife, Kellie of Wilton, NH, Donald L. Boissonnault and his companion, Judy Caron of Pittsburg, NH; 8 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and Wallace Hooper; several nieces and nephews. There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 30th at 11:00 am in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Milford, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Home, Health & Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
