Maureen F. Yergeau

Our beloved Maureen “Moe” Yergeau sadly gained her angel wings on the morning of January 20th at the age of 70.

She was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts on March 18, 1953, to the late John and Mildred (Cassidy) McGrath. Maureen attended St. Rose Catholic School. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, and best friend of 41 years, Richard “Dick” Yergeau.

In 1979, Maureen moved to Milford, New Hampshire with husband, and together they built a life while sharing love for their community, meeting many dear friends along the way. Moe quickly became an active member of the small community. She was eager to help out on multiple chaperone trips abroad, and truly loved to explore the world. Maureen was an enthusiastic mother and enjoyed watching her children’s soccer, baseball, and basketball games. One of her favorite pastimes is spending time with family at the beach, whether it be enjoying the sunshine with her grandchildren, or watching the waves in a rainstorm. She also enjoyed sharing laughter with loved ones, while sharing a cup of coffee. She was a beloved member of the town of Milford and was well-respected by her community members and peers.

Moe is survived by her loving children– her son Brian Yergeau, and his wife Kristina Yergeau; and her daughter Christine (Yergeau) Kaltsas, and her husband Mark Kaltsas. She was an affectionate and supportive “Nana” to the love and lights of her life, her four grandchildren, Hayden and Owen Kaltsas; Grayson and Colton Yergeau, all of Bennington. She also leaves behind her two close cousins who were raised together like sisters– Isabelle Ruggerio, and Joanne Haley, along with many caring and loving friends.

Moe carried herself humbly, while living her life to the fullest. She believed in expressing genuine gratitude for all the simple things. She touched many family members and friends with her sincere love and care and brought so much light to those around with her laughter and humor.

Moe endured adversity with great fortitude while exuding grace. She taught us all so many wise lessons, though most of all, she taught us how to find strength, and to persevere. Remember to live like Moe– do not let fear hold you back. Seize the moment and be unapologetically you.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 25th from 6:00-8:00pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Solinsky Center for Cancer Care at The Elliot, 1 Elliot Way, Manchester, NH 03103.
