James D. "Major Motion" Cassidy, 71, a lifelong resident of Milford, NH died on March 14, 2014 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, surrounded by his family. He was born in Manchester, NH on August 20, 1942; a son of Thomas S Cassidy, Sr. and Irene B. (Lemner) Quinn Cassidy. He was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas S. Cassidy, Jr. and William E. Quinn. He attended Milford schools, and was employed at the White Horse for many years where he danced and performed with various local bands. He enjoyed bowling and following New England sports teams, but he was never happier then when he was with family and friends. Family members include three brothers and sisters-in-law: Lawrence S. & Brenda Cassidy of Lyndeborough, NH, Timothy M. Cassidy of Blum TX, Thomas S. and Janice Quinn of Mont Vernon, NH, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Memorial visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 5th from 3:00 - 5:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Private burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Amherst, in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Community Hospice House, c/o Development, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
