Glen I. Urquhart

Glen I. Urquhart, 87, resident of Milford, NH went home to be with his Lord on July 3, 2015 surrounded by his immediate family. Mr. Urquhart was born in Hopedale, MA on August 18, 1927. He was a graduate of Hopedale High School and a certified Draftsman from Rhode Island School of Design. He called Southboro, MA home for nearly 50 years. Glen Urquhart was a consummate salesman, always well dressed and never at a loss for words or an engaging story. He was employed by Bolton Emerson in Lawrence, MA for over 45 years, working his way up from Regional Salesman to Vice President of Sales and Marketing. At the time of his passing, he was still actively employed & traveling as a sales consultant for Bolton Emerson Americas. As part of his passion for his work, he held several patents on machinery he helped to design. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, and a 50 year member of the Masons belonging to the Benevolent Lodge #7F&AM in Milford, NH and the Siloam Lodge AF & AM in Westboro, MA. He attended the First Baptist Church of Amherst, NH. Mr. Urquhart enjoyed sketching and painting from an early age. He was gifted at capturing the beauty of land and seascapes on paper and canvas. His greatest pleasure came from time with his family watching the Red Sox & Patriots, enjoying good conversation over fine wine & food, or relaxing outdoors. He was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and uncle. His loving family members include his wife of 12 years, Janet (Wilson) Urquhart of Milford, NH; his daughter & son in law, Laurie and Wayne Bianchi of Hollis, NH; his grandson, Jack Bianchi also of Hollis, NH; his sister, Dorie Ann Candela of Hopedale, MA; step daughter, Molly Mendola of Milford, NH; his father-in-law, Angus Wilson of Kennebunkport, ME; and a dear niece, Pam Mascroft, of Barre, MA. He was predeceased by his first wife of 52 years, Gladys M. (Luther) Urquhart. Please join us in remembering this great man who led an exceptional life at his memorial service on Saturday, July 11th at 11:00 am in the First Baptist Church of Amherst, 25 ½ Middle Street, Amherst, NH, followed by military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the First Baptist Church of Amherst Deacons Fund or Wounded Warrior Project.
