George A. Delgado, 77, resident of Milford, NH died peacefully at his home after a period of declining health on August 21, 2023. He was a long-term resident of Arlington, Massachusetts for over thirty-years. He was born on December 6, 1945 in Guayaquil, Ecuador and was the son of the late Pablo Delgado and Mary Gloria (Verduga) Cabral.
George was raised and educated in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He attended Rindge Technical High School, the Art Institute of Boston, Middlesex Community College, and Lesley University. He worked as a project engineer for over twenty-five years at Raytheon Corporation in Burlington, MA where he made many friends over the years. George retired from the Army National Guard after thirty-one years of service. Since moving to Milford, he served as a substitute teacher for the Milford Public School System as well as a school district bus driver and had worked for Hampshire Hills.
George was an accomplished artist who painted numerous scenes of life in Milford and the Boston area. He was an automobile enthusiast who regularly attended local antique car shows and who owned hundreds of vehicles throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Delgado of Milford, NH, daughter, Annemarie Delgado of Virginia, son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Andrea Delgado of Milford, NH, his granddaughter, Alicia Pullen of Virginia, his two sisters, Marie Delgado of Tewksbury, MA, Betsy Forte of Billerica, MA and his brother, Gonzalo Cabral of Milford, NH and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH 03055. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 PM in the Riverside Cemetery, Milford, NH 03055.
