Dolores Ann (Moorhouse) Misodoulakis, 92, most recently of Middleboro, MA, died peacefully on March 11, 2024, after a short period of declining health.
She was born on November 17, 1931, in Paterson, NJ, a daughter of the late Harold and Sarah (Shields) Moorhouse.
Dolores was raised and educated in Paterson, NJ where she met her future husband and began raising her family.
She resided in Hudson, NH for many years before moving to Milford where she lived until her health brought her closer to Gregory, her son, in Lakeville, MA.
Dolores was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family. Her favorite role was that of Yia Yia. Being a nurturing and loving grandmother to all her grandsons and great-grandchildren was what she cherished most.
In addition to her parents, Dolores was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, George J. Misodoulakis, her son, George J. Misodoulakis Jr and her grandsons Christopher J. and Gregory G. Misodoulakis.
Dolores leaves behind her children, Barbara Moriarty and her husband, Kevin, of Nashua, NH; Gregory and his wife, Celeste, of Lakeville, MA; and Mark and his wife, Susan, of Litchfield, NH. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Jason Moriarty, Adam Moriarty, Matthew Misodoulakis, Timothy Misodoulakis and Alexander Misodoulakis. She leaves behind great-grandchildren, Aidan, April and Troy. Dolores leaves behind her younger brother, Harold Moorhouse, of Hawthorne, NJ.
A special thank you to the wonderful caregivers and staff at the Hannah BG Shaw Home for the Aged in Middleboro, MA who lovingly cared for Dolores for so many years.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A short funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:15 PM. Burial will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to her grandson’s scholarship, The Gregory G. Misodoulakis Memorial Scholarship Fund. Checks may be payable to GGMMS and sent to The Southcoast Community Foundation, 128 Union Street Suite 403, New Bedford, MA 02740, or online:
